Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah … or so the song goes.
Did a good work out in the pool this morning until the thunder rolled in. Supposed to be like this on and off all day.
Mary has her buddy Josh over for the day. Chris and Scott are off to the Frankford Blues Festival. Should be good, hope the weather is not too bad for them. A lot of the day is under cover in the pavillion, or whatever.
Here’s a recent layout based on a class I took of Vicki Boutin’s:
The star of this layout is my oldest daughter Nikki. Nikki is the mother of Brynn (6) and Kieran (4). She studied and freelanced as a graphic designer. Since graphic designers are starving in Ottawa area, and she didn’t want her children to, Nikki is now holding a position with Service Canada. She has moved up the ladder from where she began with the department about two years ago, and has a few artistic outlets to compensate for being chained to the desk. She is a talented quilt artist, and musician. She plays with the Village Bicycles in the Ottawa area (http://thevillagebicycles.com/). I’ll get some of her quilts posted here, because I think they are pretty exciting.
Vicki Boutin’s original is a one-page layout, I wanted to adapt it to a two-page layout. The Sassafrass papers just seem to suit Nikki’s personality, and these photos of her. Here’s Vicki’s original layout. Apologies for the quality Vicki, but I had to take a scan of your instructions as I could not find a photo of it online.
I’m off to clean the house, do some paperwork on Mom’s estate, organize and clean a bit in the scrap room, then maybe scrap a bit!!!!! Oh, I hope there’s time for scrapping!!!
