We came back from the zoo today, having to tell Chris and Mary the very sad news that Sunshine our beloved bunny died. It is a sad day in our house.
She was a good pet. Went beserk every time we put food in her dish. Would jump at us and startle whoever was putting the food in. She loved to be petted. She loved to stick her bum into the chicken wire when we put her in her outside cage that we made out of the frame of our old couch for her. Chris and I would laugh. Sunning her bum I guess.
Mary’s friend Benny’s family had her. Mary was there the day she was born. They raised meat rabbits out back of their place, and one of the neighbours complained. None of her siblings survived, they were all killed for meat. But Mary insisted on bringing Sunshine home. We had to convince her father to let her have it. Imagine my surprise after helping her with her “get Sunshine” campaign when I found out that Sunshine was going to be a 20 pound meat rabbit, and not a small little pet.
We had a great time with her. She was a good pet. We loved her very much. We’ll never forget you Sunny.
