Little Shop of Sketches has posted their Sketch #92 (designed by DT member Ashley Van Etten).
Here is their sketch:
Here is my take on the sketch, using Fancy Pants Designs Love Birds Sending My Love paper and featuring my daughter Mary Pennington. The close-up photo will show the flowers I made myself from that same paper line!!

Today is the launch of the first sketch for another Freaking scrappy challenge … I hope you pop over there to play – we are having a blast!!!
My dear little granddaughter Brynn Zwanenburg loves to goof around and can cross her eyes at will for a laugh. She and her brother Kieran Zwanenburg are such a joy to be around! Here is a layout of Brynn that I did based on the sketch and using a lovely Pink Paislee paper and a tissue paper flower that my friend Lee Schertzing made:
Oh my gosh – there does seem to be a lot of dreaming going on at the scrapbook challenges this month – first the challenge at another Freaking scrappy challenge … then the challenge on at Bird is the Word. As for our family, first I was dreaming this month, then now here is my Mary with her dreams …
Scrapbookers Anonymous has a new challenge on right now to use paper or objects that begin with the letter “A”. This is a new “alphabet” challenge they will feature each month on the 15th. Next month will feature the letter “B” and so on each month. Participants are to use materials from manufacturer that begin with the featured letter, or other elements that begin with the letter. I guess you could feature aardvaarks for this challenge (lol) – and maybe use up some of your stash of flowers when it is the month for the letter “F”. I choose the manufacturer American Crafts for my challenge, and used their paper line Dear Lizzy as well as a little piece of their paper Heat Wave Kahuna Kiwi. Hope you like it:
Little Shop of Sketches has their new sketch up right now:
I was the designer of the sketch to play there this time, and designed it very sparsely in order to allow more room for interpretation for players this round. I owed it to everyone, as the last one I designed there (Sketch 89) was a busy one!! Come on over and play with us!!!
Here is my interpretation of that sketch:
I used photos of my son Chris Pennington, along with both Crate Paper papers and My Mind’s Eye embellishments for this layout. I wanted Chris to pose for my camera – well, he’d rather ham it up than smile for a photo … boys …
Here’s my interpretation of the sketch this week at Sketchy Thursdays featuring my daughters Stephanie Pennington and Mary Pennington, using awesome freaking Sassafrass Marmalade papers!!! Babycakes Snookum Pie … Steph’s pet name for her baby sister …
The Sassafrass Blog has their August challenge on right now and that is to use 3 Sassafrass alphabets in a layout. I used Yellow Paper, Green Graph and Hog Heaven.
Don’t forget that we’ve launched the first challenge at another Freaking scrappy challenge … and we are proud of the first prompt. Come on over … be stretched and inspired … make friends and have some fun!!!

August’s challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous is to use up some of your stash of journalling spots. I used three circular spots as flowers in my layout – and three cuter little flowers there couldn’t possibly be than Kieran Zwanenburg, Emma Delage and Brynn Zwanenburg!!! I used Fancy Pants Designs Kraft Kuts Ledger, Owl Paper and Fairy Forest, along with jillibean Chilled Strawberry Soup whipped cream papers for this layout. I also incorporated some butterflies, as the challenge over at Get Picky is to be inspired by this image:

If you haven’t played at Scrapbookers Anonymous – you should play this month – Theresa and Lea are awesomely encouraging!!
Don’t forget about our launch over at another Freaking scrappy challenge ... it’s going to be a blast!! If the launch is even a fraction as successful as the interest shown leading up to it, well, freaking OMG!!
