It’s the 15th of the month sketch challenge over at another Freaking scrappy challenge … and the challenge is to:
Scrap an Easter memory (preferably when you were young) using spring colours in your layout.
I scrapped my First Communion – I’m pretty sure it took place on Easter Sunday, or at least very close to Easter of that year. I do know my mother was wearing her Easter Sunday hat and coat. Here is the journalling I put on my tag:
I was sad that when I made my First Communion, my twin brother Gary could not make it with me. He was sick at home with the chicken pox. I had barely recovered myself and I remember having a big pock mark on my face still. Mom and Dad dressed my younger brother up that day to have photos taken with me, but I really missed my little buddy Gary. I always wanted him with me, but more especially for special days!
You have until March 31st at 11:59 pm to post a link to your layout on the Mr. Linky for the challenge.
Here is my layout. I used K and Company die-cut flowers, butterflies and birds, and I altered some ephemera that I had downloaded from The Graphics Fairy for the First Communion title (see close-up). I used the new Dylusions by Dyan Reaverer Ink Spray by Ranger to spray the doily and the yellow splotches on the white Cathie Allan and Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock card stock. Here is my layout and a close-up of the title card:
Here is a layout I made for Scrapbookers Anonymous’ latest mid-month alphabet challenge. This month’s challenge is the letter H. Come along and play with us. My layout is H for Hallowe’en!
The layout features my son Chris Pennington dressed in the Pokemon Charmeleon costume I made for him around the year 2000. I made a Pikachu costume for his sister around the same time. Brought back so many wonderful memories of the all the kids when they were young, because I used to make their older sisters costumes as well.
Georgia Heald let me know that Sassy Scrapper, the online store she is designing for has a giveaway. You can find out more about it here on their blog!! Giveaways sure are a fave with me!!!
Georgia also has a giveaway on her blog here.
BTW – you’ll see a little more of Georgia’s work over at another Freaking scrappy challenge … soon, as she will be our guest DT there next month!!
Over at another Freaking scrappy challenge … here is the prompt we are giving our followers:
March is the month where school children have a spring break in Canada. Scrap some memories of a spring break (or another school break) that you experienced. We never travelled in our family for school breaks, but I did always enjoy the time outside or reading and just relaxing.
I scrapped about visits to my Mémère and Pépère`s house in summers – my mother`s parents home. Dad was military, so we spent many of our summers visiting either his or my mother`s family, as we usually lived quite far from either families. I used Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Borders and Remember papers. The photo is my siblings and I, my grandfather and Uncle Edouard, and my Mémère in front of her farmhouse.
Now, over at the other FABULOUS challenge blog, Scrapbookers Anonymous, the lovely Theresa and Lea are challenging their followers to create a collage with stickers – using a minimum of 11 stickers!! I scrapped a photo of my son Chris Pennington and used Bo bunny Grease Monkey Gears paper.
