Come play along the last few days for both of the challenges at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. It’s always awesome to have old and new friends play along!! We also have a DT challenge, and we’d love to see your work!!!
I finally got a chance to play along with Stuck?! sketches and loved the boxed in look of the July 1 sketch this month. Instead of triangles, I used strips to create the look I wanted for my layout of my grandson Kieran Zwanenburg. I used Sassafrass Monstrocity paper for the layout.
You still have a few days to play along with both of the challenges at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge and also to apply for the DT. It’s always awesome to have old and new friends play along!!
Loving the mood board over at Off the Rails Scrapbooking – just couldn’t wait to do my own layout based on the colours!! Loving the papers from Fancy Pants Designs Inc. Trend Setter line of papers. The model is my beautiful mother Mary Wride (Marie Allain) back in the late 50s, early 60s. I sure do wish she could just call me – miss her dearly.
We have a design team call over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge – come try out!!
Just love Sketch 119 over at Sketchabilities, and love the photos I’ve used of my son Chris Pennington and his friend Mitchell Van Oosten at Northern Lodge on 10 August 2005 (Chris’ twelfth birthday). Here is my layout based on the sketch, using Sassafrass’ Monstrocity paper line:
Come try out for the DT at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge – it’s a friendly, talented, encouraging group there!!!
Let’s Get Sketchy’s July Week 2 Sketch is awesome. I mixed it up a bit to accomodate the paper I was using, but kept fairly true to the sketch. My layout features my youngest grandson Robert Campbell on his first visit to us while we camped at Presqu’ile Park. I used Sassafrass Monstrocity paper line for my layout:

Scrap Africa has a beautiful sketch challenge on right now:
Here is my interpretation of it with my grandson Kieran Zwanenburg using My Mind’s Eye Cut and Paste papers:
That’s what my four grandchildren are!! This layout is for 123 Challenge Blog and Sketchabilities, and the star of the layout is my eldest granddaughter – Brynn Zwanenburg. The challenge at 123 Challenge Blog is to use brights, the word “awesome” and arrows. The arrows I used are arrowheads. I flipped the sketch at Sketchabilities this time around:
Here’s my interpretation of both sketches using Fancy Pants Be You papers:
Don’t forget to come and play along with Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge – we have a fun challenge on right now until the end of the month – and our sketch is coming on the 15th !!!
We have a fun challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge this month, and you have until the end of the month to complete it and post to our blog. The challenge is to scrap or art journal about:
Have you ever been recognized for something? Scholarship? Award? Employee of the quarter? Fifth place winner??? Published? Scrap or art journal about it.
I scrapped about my time at Queen’s University. I had dreamed of studying for a degree since I had been in grade school, and didn’t have the opportunity to attend until I had children. I worked hard, as I had when I was in school years ago, and was very pleased to win a few prizes and scholarships along the way as I studied. My journalling describes them. I used Heidi Swapp embellishments and some Canadian Scrapbooker and Cathie Allan Super Stock for this layout.
Come play along with us. We’d love to see your work!!!!
This layout is also being entered into the Once Upon a Sketch challenge this month, where the theme is numbers. In my journalling, I stress winning a few prizes once from the university, and 4 times for one particular scholarship. I based my entry on their lovely sketch this month. It’s a wonderful challenge – you should check it out!!!
Black with Two has another awesome mood board for July:
I love the challenge of using black with the colours of the month – it stretches my creativity. Here is my interpretation of this month’s challenge, featuring my daughter Mary Pennington:
