I haven’t been posting any of my class or kit layouts lately, but some of them are just too pretty not to share. Here are a couple of double page layouts designed by Vicki Boutin featuring my daughter Jacqueline Pennington and her fiance Greg Campbell:
Here’s a sweet layout designed by Kelly Goree, and featuring my daughters Mary, Jacqueline and Stephanie Pennington:
Just back from the academic awards at our daughter Mary Pennington`s school where she was one of the top 100 students in the school for her work last year, as well as the recipient of the Science (Environment) award for grade 11. So, so proud of her, and our other 4 children!! We are so lucky that we have been invited to this event on behalf of our children`s work several times over the years. We both remarked that this is the first year that they addressed all the talented students in an efficient manner. And because this event only honours grades 9 through 11 students, and that Mary is our youngest child, this is our last time we attend the event. It was a pleasant length, and all students were suitably honoured.
And speaking of Mary …
Scrap Around the World and Stuck Sketches challenges are inspirations for my latest layout that features Mary.
The mood board at Scrap Around the World had some blue, yellow and green – which prompted me to use Studio Calico`s Sassafrass Take Note collection for my layout of Mary participating in the go-cart race in Frankford when she was likely in fourth grade or thereabouts. (Just wish I could find the digital photo in my archive and check the date on the camera) …
The sketch at Stuck Sketches helped me pull together the colours from the mood board and the papers to make a bold layout that does justice to the attitude in the photo and the style of the collection. I’m happy with it, and hope you enjoy it!!
Craft Szafa and Bird is the Word have some great challenges this month. At Craft Szafa the theme is the end of fall – and they want some yellow in the layout, and at Bird is the Word, the word is inspire.
I have five children who inspire me and this layout features my youngest daughter, who is camping at Presqu’ile Provincial Park with me, as our family does every year. We participate in all the park programs while we are there, and this particular visit, we happened to be there for the Monarch Migration Weekend. Mary is a vibrant personality who is fierce about fairness, has a great artistic talent and has a great love of nature. She inspires me – as do all my children because of all their unique gifts!!
Here is Mary participating in the Monarch release. I used American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm papers for this layout.
Check out the latest sketch over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge …
Here is my take on this sketch, using Amy Tangerine Scatter Sunshine American Crafts paper and a photo of my son Chris Pennington and I at Presqu’ile Park near Brighton Ontario peeking at a goose.
The word over at Bird is the Word is “breathe” and I am submitting this layout to that challenge as well.
