White With 1 has a fabulous challenge this month and it is to use the colour opera mauve with white:
Here is my take on it – the colours are not coming out true in the light I took the photo with, but it is definitely opera mauve. The photo features my super awesome and much loved grandchildren Emma Delage and Robert Campbell.
We have an ongoing DT call over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge … Come on out and see! While you are there – come play along with our two challenges!
And another fun blog is Black With Two – where you use the sketch and the two colours with a predominantly black background. This stretches your creativity in AMAZING ways!!! Here is their challenge for this month:
Here is my take on it – featuring my granddaughter Emma Delage:
We have a design team call over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge – come on over and join in!
Also – at Black with Two they have a new challenge for July – lots of fun – go check it out for yourself!
I made this layout using the sketch over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge:
I used the colour scheme and the grid over at Punky Scraps as well I incorporated white space in my design as they suggested:
My layout features my grandson Kieran Zwanenburg and granddaughter Emma Delage:
Come play along with Black with 2 – a fantastic challenge blog that will encourage you to work with predominantly black backgrounds, along with two other colours each month.
Their challenge for the month of June is as follows:
And here is my interpretation of it for the design team submission:
The 1 March 2014 prompt challenge is up at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. Come play along – we love new friends! You have until the end of March to play. The challenge is to:
Scrap or art journal about a favourite song in from your teens. You can scrap some of the lyrics, or the title, or a photo of the band …
I’ve been playing along with other challenge blogs this month too! The mood board at Scrap Around the World is all pink and yummy and prompted me to use the colours and photos that I used in my layout:
The sketch at Scrap Africa was equally yummy as usual, and I used it for my layout:
And speaking of Scrap Africa – I was the lucky winner of this beautiful prize pack from 7 Dots Studio because of my participation in their last challenge:
Thank you so very much!!!!
But I digress …
Here’s my interpretation of both challenges. The photos are of my granddaughter Emma as she begins ballet lessons. The first two photos were taken the first class by her mother. In just a few weeks she gains confidence – as you can see in the third photo!! I used Basic Grey Mint Julep Carolina paper as the background, and some Heidi Swapp embellishments in the layout:
I’m so excited !!! We have our first sketch reveal since the re-opening of Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. The design team has created some gorgeous interpretations of the sketch. Come down to the blog and play along with us!!!
This is my interpretation of the sketch – using Cathie Allan and Canadian Scrapbooker Super-stock paper, some acrylic pain, washi tape and embellishments that I had on hand:
August’s challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous is to use up some of your stash of journalling spots. I used three circular spots as flowers in my layout – and three cuter little flowers there couldn’t possibly be than Kieran Zwanenburg, Emma Delage and Brynn Zwanenburg!!! I used Fancy Pants Designs Kraft Kuts Ledger, Owl Paper and Fairy Forest, along with jillibean Chilled Strawberry Soup whipped cream papers for this layout. I also incorporated some butterflies, as the challenge over at Get Picky is to be inspired by this image:

If you haven’t played at Scrapbookers Anonymous – you should play this month – Theresa and Lea are awesomely encouraging!!
Don’t forget about our launch over at another Freaking scrappy challenge ... it’s going to be a blast!! If the launch is even a fraction as successful as the interest shown leading up to it, well, freaking OMG!!
The new sketch (Sketch 88) was revealed at Little Shop of Sketches today. And guess what???? It was one of my sketches. Sketch 89 will be one of mine as well. I had a blast doing them. I had as much fun doing the layout for Sketch 88 – but that was mostly because I had a new little sweetheart’s photos to use, and some gorgeous pink paper I had tucked away for just the right layout.
Here is their latest sketch:
Here is my layout based on the sketch:

On June 15th, our little granddaughter Emma Delage was born (see post and photos of her from last month). The photos in the layout are of she and I, at our first meeting soon after her birth. I used the Little Yellow Bicycle Sweet Love line paper, and ephemera with a baby girl theme that I downloaded from the internet and sized appropriately for my layout. The flower embellishments were cut from a second piece of paper from the same paper line (Little Yellow Bicycle Sweet Love – Love Garden). The pink hobby horse trim was something I picked up from somewhere at sometime (vague much????) and sprayed pink with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Pink Bubblegum.
I hope you enjoy working with the sketch as much as I did – come on over to the blog and play along with us!!!
What a thrill last week to have been chosen as a Fave at Sketchy Thursdays for my Mary Poppins layout! Was such a pleasure to do that layout, it brought so many happy memories back of my childhood and my mother taking me to that movie when we lived at the base in Marville, France. But that is not the BEST thing to happen in a while, this week was EVEN BETTER!!!!
Baby Emma Olivia Danielle Delage was born last night (June 15) at 9:13. She weighted 7 lbs 10 oz. She is perfect!!!! Granny loves her so very much!!! Mary and I went up to the hospital last night to meet her and we took some cute photos!!!
