Wow – made a layout I love today for two exciting challenge blogs’ challenges for May.
Off the Rails Scrapbooking has a mood board for May and I LOVE it!
And the challenge over at Challenge YOUrself is to use the song “This One’s for the Girls” as your inspiration. I used the line “this one’s for all you girls” as an intro to some advice I would have liked to have given my 3 eldest daughters way back when. But they seem to live that advice anyway :).
Here is my layout using a photo of we four in Niagara Falls before I was actually part of their family. It is one of my happiest memories.
Come try out for the DT at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge – it’s a friendly, talented, encouraging group there!!!
Let’s Get Sketchy’s July Week 2 Sketch is awesome. I mixed it up a bit to accomodate the paper I was using, but kept fairly true to the sketch. My layout features my youngest grandson Robert Campbell on his first visit to us while we camped at Presqu’ile Park. I used Sassafrass Monstrocity paper line for my layout:
Wow – so excited to announce that I am a new DT member for Black with 2 – a fantastic challenge blog that will encourage you to work with predominantly black backgrounds, along with two other colours each month. I have played along and really enjoyed it. I saw their DT call, applied, and am so pleased that I was accepted, along with an awesome bunch of girls!! You should come play along with us!
Their challenge for the month of May is as follows:
Here is my take on their awesome challenge:
Take their challenge and come play along with us!!!
Come play the 1st April prompt challenge and the 15th April sketch challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge . You have until the end of the month to play along!!! Don’t be shy – we’d love to see you there!!!
Meanwhile I’ve been busy this long Easter weekend traipsing around the internet and checking out the challenge blogs. Off the Rails Scrapbooking has a lovely sketch that I flipped for this layout of my grandson Robert Campbell. I also incorporated their lovely colour pallete in the layout. Scraps and Pieces Emporium has the prompt Treasures – and babies sure are treasures – as my layout title attests!! Finally, Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo’s challenge is to feature an animal in the layout. I managed to incorporate all three challenges in this first layout of Robert ever! I used paper and rub-ons from Fancy Pants Little Sprout collection for this layout.
The 15 March 2014 sketch challenge is up at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. And of course our 1 March challenge is still open to join in with. Come play along – we love new friends! You have until the end of March to play. The prompt challenge is to:
Scrap or art journal about a favourite song in from your teens. You can scrap some of the lyrics, or the title, or a photo of the band …
The sketch challenge is:
Meanwhile, it’s been fun looking around on the net for some challenges to spark my creativity.
I found the sketch and theme at Once Upon a Sketch, and decided to scrap a layout of my daughter Jacqueline Pennington. I also journalled using their theme:
You only live once but if you do it right once is enough.
I also incorporated the fun Bingo theme at Craft-Szafa this month. I’ve used the top line of the Bingo card – Flowers, Pearls and Metal Element (the metal elements are the brads in the centres of the flowers).
Another easy challenge to play along with this month is the challenge at Off the Rails Scrapbooking where the theme was ANYTHING GOES. What an easy one to play with!!! Very easy to consider this layout as a qualifying entry :).
Here’s my layout, following by a close-up of the YOLO theme embellishment and journalling:
Here are more layouts from Markham. This one features my granddaughter Brynn:
This one features my daughter Jacqueline Pennington and her fiance Greg Campbell:
Both designs are by Kelly Goree!!!!
Some more of the layouts from classes I’ve attended lately. This one’s from Kelly Goree’s Pop that Layout class and features my daughter Jacqueline Pennington and her fiance Greg Campbell:
