Scrapbookers Anonymous challenges us to make a card with the scraps of our layouts – boy do I need that prod. I haven’t been disciplined to making my own cards, or even to sending store-bought cards to people, and I need to be.
They had a challenge this month to make a layout using at least 3 pieces of paper from a 6 x 6 paper pad. Paper I used is Basic Grey Urban Prairie for both my layout and for this card.
Go on over to their blog (run by Theresa and Lea) to see what others have posted. You will be glad you did.

you!! Scrapbookers Anonymous has June’s challenge out on their blog, and it is to make a layout using at least 3 pieces of paper from a 6 x 6 paper pad. Sometimes we purchase them for cardmaking and mini album making and either forget to use up the remainder, or forget them altogether. I had purchased two Basic Grey mini-album kits, have ALMOST finished them, but never used the remainder of the paper. Paper is Basic Grey Urban Prairie and model is Mary Pennington, our youngest daughter. The 4 background papers are from the paper pad, and the banner uses other papers as well from that paper pad. Hope you enjoy!!!

Wow, this is going to be a FUNNNNNNNNNNNN class at Sweet Sentiments. Laura and Krista are going to have a Saturday class using this Spinner Album Kit from Zutter. I am designing the album and teaching the class – fun, fun, fun!! The photo below is from Zutter website, I’ll be putting a photo on this blog of my own designed album once it is finished:
This is going to be an awesome keepsake. There are 10 tabbed chipboard dividers, 10 plain chipboard dividers, and 40 cardstock pages, for a total of 60 double sided pages to scrap your memories on – that makes 120 freaking palettes to create on !!!!
I am doing mine up as kind of a family album – ancestors, some family trees, keepsakes. We will be using some papers and embellishments from the Basic Grey Curio collection to create the album with. Yummy vintage!!! You can put together your album using any photos, recipes, momentos or whatever else strikes your imagination!!!
This album will use techniques galore!! We will be making envelopes, our own embellishments and flowers, inking, embossing, and using embossing powders. This will be a keepsake that you will be proud of!!
Got to go work on it so I can get it online to show you Keep looking for sneak previews!!!
Going to take a break at 8 though to register for SCRAPFEST!!!!! Caio for now!!!
This month’s Basic Grey kit, featuring their Oliver line, and my son Chris. Chris was in Algonquin Park this summer as a ranger. These are photos of him waiting at Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park for the leaders to come pick up him and his buddies at the end of the only weekend they were allowed home this summer. He was pretty anxious to get back to camp at this point. Poor kid was torn between wanting to come home to see his family and pets, and not wanting to spend a single second away from his job – he really loved it.
Some modifications to original design – but who doesn’t personalize them?

Here is Basic Grey’s original:
Here is a layout using the Max and Whiskers line of papers from Basic Grey.
Here is Mary having her ears pierced way back when. Poor kid, was brave until the end. Unfortunately she didn’t have the heart for the aftercare and we ran into difficulties, so we let them grow over. She still has no interest in having it done again.
The paper is from Basic Grey Capella – their June kit. I made a few modifications, because, why not?
I’ve been working on these kits this year at Sweet Sentiments in Belleville. Those girls (Christa and Laura) are awesome to deal with. You should come by to see them.
So great to have big sisters to hang out with. Here are Stephanie and Mary hanging out on Christmas day 2008. Steph was helping me humour Mary for a nice sister photo.
Layout is from May 2010 Page of the Month Kit Basic Grey using Green at Heart line: Veggies, Moss, Vert, Sage, Recycle, Grasshopper, Element Stickers, Micro Mono Stockers, CAnvas Tags, Take Notes.
