The PageMaps Blog (http://www.pagemaps.com/blog.php) has another fantastic contest based on one of their pagemaps. I don’t know how Becky Fleck continues to offer these awesome page sketches over and over for us avid scrapbookers to use. My interpretation of her sketch features my beautiful granddaughter Brynn. The journalling reads:
No matter where you go and what you do in your life, I will always remember this moment and the expression on your face that I captured that day with my camera. That day you were my princess.
Here is Becky’s PageMap sketch:
Here is my intepretation:
I used Basic Grey’s June Bug line, including their stickers. I picked up all the paper and stickers (including the sparkly crowns by Imaginisce) at Scrapbooks and Smiles in Trenton. Some of you keen scrapbookers may want to see the close-up on some of the details:
“I love to watch you whenever I can at your track and field events. You run like the wind with great joy! I have never been able to move like you do, and it makes me happy to see how very different you are than me!”
Had to run twice, it was so fleeting.
First the tops of the trees were like they had been painted gold.
Then the colour was gone as fast as the sun had painted the gold.
I went back in the house.
My son Chris called from downstairs – look at the orange!
I ran again with my camera.
Again, gone as fast as it came.
My daughter, Mary had been out with her friends and had taken her camera. She said she took some of her own photos as fast as she could. I’m looking forward to seeing hers.
Nice distraction, although I’d spent the rest of the day fairly pleasantly making thank you cards for the kindnesses shown our family while we grieved the loss of our mother.
